The Berkshire Children’s Chorus is comprised of three choral ensembles, involving nearly 40 children who travel from 18 different towns throughout the Tri-State area. The organization was founded in 1990 by Nancy Loder and is currently under the artistic direction of Julie Bickford. The Chorus is in residence the Old Parish Church in Sheffield, MA.

Now in its 25th season, the Berkshire Children’s Chorus has a long history of performances on local, national, and international stages. In 2007, the choruses traveled to Boston to perform at the inauguration of Governor Deval Patrick. In the past decade, the choruses toured New York City, Toronto, Canterbury, England, Florence and Rome, Italy, Straubing, Germany, Paris, France, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The choristers have sung under the direction of such notable conductors as Robert Page, John Rutter, Henry Leck, Janet Galvan, and Maria Guinard. The chorus has shared the stage with Metropolitan Opera stars Denyce Graves and Maureen O’Flynn, as well as acting greats Meryl Streep and Sam Waterston. The Berkshire Children’s Chorus has also collaborated with local music organizations such as the Berkshire Opera Company, the Berkshire Choral Festival, the Berkshire Bach Society, and the Cantilena Chamber Choir.
